Putting nature as a neutral (yet potentially horrific) force outside the Law-Chaos conflict is fantastic. Great points all around - I'm sure I'll be back to read this one again later.

Bonus style points for mentioning Tacitus and Germania.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18031181424520125213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5377543525075660166.post-38955168940284326662014-07-20T06:02:21.956-04:002014-07-20T06:02:21.956-04:00A very worthwhile look at the idea. Joe Bloch included Genii Loci in his monster book for Adventures Dark & Deep, which is another way to take this sort of thing.faoladhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03691952430041394614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5377543525075660166.post-16630301366825170602014-07-20T00:30:02.265-04:002014-07-20T00:30:02.265-04:00I suppose this, along with legends of Merlin, was ...I suppose this, along with legends of Merlin, was the inspiration for the Druid. (Don't get me started on the BEMCI Druid who switches allegiance at level 9 or something.)

At first I thought you were suggesting something new. This is praise: you have found a new source (to me) through which to view the Druid class.

I'm fooling around with a love letter to 0e game and everywhere I turn, I find a reason to add one or more of the original optional classes. Already I included the thief in order to give the dwarf and Halfling something to mutliclass into. I have a kind of a monk. The paladin and ranger may make it in because my players find them fun. Perhaps the Druid gets in as well. Not a 3e Druid; a Merlin Druid like the one you hint at here. Scott Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12067161332003628237noreply@blogger.com
